Building on 25 years of expertise with the m/s Paul Gauguin, the group will introduce Le Jacques Cartier, focusing on rarely visited areas.
The new itineraries will cover the Society, Tuamotu, Austral, Gambier, and Marquesas Islands, as well as the Pitcairn Islands.
With these expansions, Ponant aims to provide a comprehensive and enriching exploration of French Polynesia’s most secluded and culturally rich areas.
Sailing into immersive adventures
The new itineraries promise to offer guests a deeper understanding of Polynesian culture, with activities such as welcome ceremonies, workshops with local artisans, and visits to sacred sites.
The m/s Paul Gauguin, a staple in Polynesia for over two decades, will continue to offer immersive journeys with extended stopovers and cultural experiences led by local hosts.
Meanwhile, Le Jacques Cartier will embark on three “Discovery” itineraries, which can be combined into a 42-night voyage covering six archipelagos and 23 islands.
José Sarica, R&D Expedition Experience Director, highlighted the importance of collaborating with local communities to create unique experiences for guests, stating, “We discovered hidden treasures, places of incredible beauty and a spirituality that is truly linked to the natural environment.”
